Down the rabbit hole

Its been a minute since I updated this. Have been busy with life, kids returning to school, work, and photography. A few quick updates - have been spending much more time printing, and enjoying the slow process though its frustrating at times. And the other thing I have been doing is making a bunch of photos using a large format 4x5 monorail camera that was gifted to me by a photography friend a few weeks back. I have found a paper/film process I like. Basically have been using Harmon positive paper, exposing it straight in camera at iso of 3 and then developing under safelight. The results when I nail it are second to none. here are a few samples. I am currently building a project that I hope to share here. Here are a few of the better frames:

a little over exposed, but has sort of a wet plate look to it.

I have slowed down a bit on 35mm. Street photography just doesn’t excite me the way slow long exposure portraits does. As my friend Shane has said - long exposures have life, breath, heartbeats, maybe a thought, emotion or story in them. I like that.

Next up, tackling salt prints. I just finished making a spring back print frame, will be a fun project.
